Reverb Problem on a 1964 Super Reverb

Post by CB Amp »

Hello,
I've found a 1964 SR that I just finished restoring (new electrolytic caps, voltages check, etc...).
But at last, there is some reverb on both channels, and these one is weak. So I checked the wiring (but there was no "reverb on both channel" mod), I checked the two 220K resistors, a few components, a new reverb tank, and everything seems to be ok...
Has someone ever seen that before ?...
Thanks for your help.

Is the tank in a bag ? a nice heavy one like original? If not the air pressure from the speakers could be driving the springs and picked up on the recovery side. Also, new tanks are pretty lame, the coils are very loose and I usually super glue them to the transducer lamination's, cures all kinds of strange noises and firms up the reverb quality.

Billyz, you were right ! Thanks a lot.
There was no bag for the tank, and when I put the tank out of the cab, no problem anymore.
I've got other amps without a reverb bag, but this is the first time I see/hear it... it's logical, but I though it happened once in a blue moon...
It's a beautiful sounding amp now, thanks again ! :D
