I set the mic in the alesis video track to the Low level to avoid compression, still I think the amp sounds better than that. I wish I had better recording gear.
Well, I used the zep riffs just to show diferent levels of gain and touch dynamics. I wish i could play them like Page but, oh well, just a hobbyist trying to build a good clone.... Thanks noval!!
I think thats a pretty cool clip and if it sounds better inperson you have a winner.
As for trying to get a representative recording......I fully understand that.
Having tried with limited success to record my builds, it has has made me more appreciative of the task.....
I haven't been brave enough to post my Express clips.
Thanks for the kind comments!! Yes I think it sounds better than that. I will try diferent mic settings on the alesis video track and diferent guitars and yes fishy, that is a rocket which I like much better than the express. I will do clips of that one with a 1x12 cab with a single celestion gold. I love that combination.
