Hope you're out of the ICU soon! Have someone bring you a guitar (and a pod, an ipod full of BTs, a small mixer and some headphones). Really helps pass the time and facilitates healing, IMHO. Not sure if they'll tolerate a 100 watt amp...

Re: Scott Lerner in the Hospital
Thanks guys!!!
Had quite a scare. Chest X-ray showed massively enlarged heard consistant with congestive heart failure. So I went to emergency room.
Turns out it was not the heart enlarged but the sac (pericardium) that surrounds the heart. Filled with fluid. Pericarditis.
This typically is a viral syndrome. There was a lot of fluid but it had not caused any heart constriction.
Two days ago they operated and drained the fluid. It was about 700ml. Chest tube was out today. Btw, they make a small incision under the xiphoid (no rib cracking)
They now will redo another echocardiogram to confirm full heart operation. Maybe be home by Tuesday or Wednesday.
The only concern left is the the heart itself was not effected by the virus.

Pericarditis eight years ago - not as severe as yours. No future ill effects for me. Best of luck in your recovery.
