trainwreck with dumble style tonestack and switches

Has anyone done a trainwreck with the dumble switching style for there tonestack. just thinking out loud I like the differant switches on the dumble clone i have and thought it would be a good addition to the trainwreck build I was going to do, but didnt know if there was something I was missing. Not quite the configuration you had in mind, i don't think, but this combination really works well. I made this amp less the "clean" channel shown here. The boost switch gives that "little more" you want with a great clean sound or just about any kinda' drive you want.

Ampdoc1 after looking this over these are two very differant tone stacks could you give an example what amp might use these and why you chose these two like is one better for a clean or so on. thanks Bill

The clean channel EQ values I show here are for a Roland JC. I'm not a jazz player or listener, but I played a JC for a wedding and really thought the clean sound was outstanding. I might not like it, but it'll be pretty easy to change values to taste.

Adding an additional switchable EQ is the only major thing I've added to a proven design I built a few years ago. In that amp the OD channel EQ (Trainwreck) shown here works really well in both the clean and OD modes, and the boost is a handy tool for both.

You may notice I have changed the plate and cathode values from the typical Express and Dumble designs. I picked by listening to different values at each stage and chose them to taste. Sounds pretty much like you'd imagine a TW/Dumble combo to sound. Clean/dirty, raw/smooth,..just dial 'er in.

I'm trying to find some PCB files I've designed for my build,..but I just worked my way out of a Window snag that has bollixed up my files for the past 3 weeks.

the rocket is set up a little bit differently but the it seems the express and the liverpool both have plate drive tone stacks after the v1a.

You could certainly copy over elements of the dumble ods clean stack without any increase in insertion loss.

However, the frequency response of the amp and the interaction of the controls will change.

If you look at this simplified schematic

you'll see that there are differences in the pot values after the initial 100k/500pf input into the tone stack.

You could pretty easily add something that functions like the deep switch or the rock/jazz switch though.

You'll probably want to play around with the values though. The cathode bypass capacitors on the v1a's of the 2 amps result in very different frequency response curves at the tone stack input.

Bill can you be more specific on this? For switching what are you looking for and are you considering relays as well?

Which Trainwreck? Are you talking about adding the overdrive section?
The Dumble has bright switch and deep switch but the next switch the jazz/Rock is tied to the OD section.

I build octal TW Rockets with bass boost switch, bright switch and gain boost switch but nothing Dumble about that.

Just wondering?

You know Mark you just taught me something I didnt know that the jazz/ rock switch was tied to the overdrive section on the dumble.
I hadnt looked at it in a while I have several schematics and i had gotten confuzed on that one.
My original thought was the jazz rock switch /deep switch and mid boost. but I had gotten side tracked when Ampdoc1 threw that two tone stack thing at me, got me thinking in a little broader sense.
But any ideas that you think are cool are open for consideration you guys teach me something new every time a new idea is brought up.

Guys I forgot the one dumble type amp I had made was a highbred here is the jazz rock switch I was talking about. I really liked what it did for the amp.
