So called Vintage Marshall JTM 45 Plexi Amp ....eBay
I don't know what's worse, the fact that it's listed as such or the fact that some of the the biddders might actually believe it.

I sent a kind note to the seller to advise him of his listing error. Its some kind of a gutted Fender amp but besides that, can't really tell the circuit. It does violate Ebay's listing policies, it will be fun to watch if it stays up.

I saw that amp listing yesterday. That looks like a POS. The lead dress leaves alot to be desired.

Can anyone identify that OT as Patridge ?
It looks suspiciously like the output from a Silvertone/Dano to me ...

I am shocked but entertained. Life never cease to amaze.
I thought that was the choke. Yeh - Silvertone/Dano, nothing bad about them but a thousand miles from a Partridge.
The builder had some weird mystic alchemy happening with that single bumble bee and the dominos and that OT. I guarantee the bumble is 100-300% off and leaks.
Which ever of you guys wins it let us know how it sounds
It doesn't look like a POS - it is! Even if it sounds good, it's still a POS. I truss a chicken better than that amp is wired. Only thing it's really missing is 1/2 tube of silicone or a pint of potting goop poured over everything.I saw that amp listing yesterday. That looks like a POS. I wont speak for the parts or the discription / listing honesty. though I do sort of like the rackmount chassis idea. I wonder if it can support the weight and not bend when in a rack case? It would be easy to add a plexi front panel to cover what ever the height of the tubes/iron are. Just thinking of a future build platform.

I just sent the seller a note to the effect that whoever told him this POS is a 64 JTM 45 Plexi in a rack mount case was fibbing!

I guess it worked as it's no longer listed.David Root wrote:I just sent the seller a note to the effect that whoever told him this POS is a 64 JTM 45 Plexi in a rack mount case was fibbing!

He sent me a fairly quick response thanking me and said he would pull the ad and relist it.

The rack ears on that one are twisted up pretty good, and I've seen rack chassis' that were probably lighter than that bend under their own weight.selloutrr wrote:I wont speak for the parts or the discription / listing honesty. though I do sort of like the rackmount chassis idea. Either some under chassis support or rack ears that extend up at least 2 to 3 spaces would be needed for anything with decent sized transformers.
Or a rack shelf.
A front panel that's not full height is nice for ventilation or a cabinet where you might want to show off tubes and transformers.
Expanded metal or hardware cloth are some options to cover the open space.
