Re: Steel String Singer Schematics
My drawing is a complete amp; SSS inspired, stereo, with no reverb and of course a non-stock filter section.

Re: Steel String Singer Schematics
I am pretty sure every SSS had differences, some big, some small. But building a Twin and adding an SVT PA is not going to get you 100% there (maybe 30%).ElectronAvalanche wrote:Hi,
well actually that was drawn by my humble self and shows the "Pentode Amp" = Dumbleland in Silver Alligator Tolex.
I think Jelle built an amp based on this schemo and liked it (Jelle, maybe you want to chime in?).
Cheers,
Electron
The 150W silver snake, from what I was told, was built for Eric Johnson, but he never picked up the amp, Dumble got made and gave it to Henry Kaiser and from there it went on to Europe. It indeed did have an EF86 front end.

Re: Steel String Singer Schematics
I think you're not going to find out what the real SSS circuit is.
The people who have seen one are probably the same people who are building them for customers.
I'm not saying that is right or wrong (unless they spreading misinformation, then they should get the boot from the forum), just how it is.
I dare say if Nik at Ceriatone ever sells a SSS you'll know what the circuit is.

I doubt it since Nik get's most if not all his Dumble info from us..I dare say if Nik at Ceriatone ever sells a SSS you'll know what the circuit is.

I 100% agree. Set a goal for the amp, define the feature set and build it and make it work the way you want it. You will learn more in the end......

Yup that's what Terri did with his Long Horn amps even kept his at lower wattage for a little different flare.

I'm sure he can afford to buy someone's clone and copy it. I dare say he chooses not to. I can't but help feel this amp would be a bit of a one trick pony.I doubt it since Nik get's most if not all his Dumble info from us..
I dare say in the future the info will surface, but the circumstances aren't there at the moment.
