I got a pt and Ot from a peavey amp it was solid state rec and 4 6L6s
Can I just make it 50 watter just 2 6l6s or do I have to go with the 4?

Sure. Shouldn't have any trouble with the PT. As far as the OT goes, when you halve the tubes, you double the primary impedance. You need to double the output impedance too (i.e. 2 becomes 4).
