Yeah it's likely been mentioned may times, but what volume pots tame the 'hair trigger' on or off volume control on the express? Is there any real way to make it more gradual?I tried a CTS audio and an Alpha audio pot and they are both pretty abrupt.
does this circuit really need a 1Meg pot?It seems I never dime the amp anyway as it has all I need at 3 on the dial.Maybe a 500kA pot would be just fine?
Yeah I know I could just throw one in and find out,but it seems like the pot taper can't have that much effect from one audio taper to the next.
The pot acts so linear it's not funny.
I almost want to use a 2 turn pot.

volume pot taper on express
Crystal latice or vacuum, that is the question.
Re: volume pot taper on express
Sorry if this has been offered but have you tried a linear pot there?

Re: volume pot taper on express
Audio taper = slow rise. Linear taper = fast rise. Not for me,it already does that.

Stick a 470K on the input to the pot and use a 500K audio taper pot. You'll get a more usable range and you'll still leave the in-circuit response the same.
You'll just limit your overall gain to about the 2 o'clock point on the existing volume pot.
