IRC GS3 3 watt resistors all around.
Those cathode bypass caps are NOS ero polycarbonates.
all signal caps are going to be sprague black beauties.
The preamp power filter caps are ASC motor runs 30uf each. The first one is bypassed with a few ero polyesters and a wima propylene. That second cap's getting bypassed with a 1000vdc vitamin Q.
Now I just gotta figure out where I'm gonna jam the 2 coupling caps for the stage.
How did you mount the plastic clips on your ceramic tektronix terminals to the chassis? I've been wanting to use some of those on a build but haven't figured out how to get them to stay put. Make sure you're using silver solder on those.

There's a nylon post at the bottom of the strip and a nylon nut that goes with it.
the nut is tapered on one side to snap into a 10-32 hole.
then the post slides into that nut and snaps in place.
not as sturdy as a bolt nylock with nothing soldered in but once all the components in place it's not going anywhere.
yup silver solder is a must. i use 62/36/2 on everything anyway so no worries.
Are these pictures of guts that you are ripping out or is this how you plan to build this amp?

With lead dress like that I would stand 10 ft back with fire extinguisher in hand when I power that beast up.

My first suggestion would be to rip all that stuff out and start over.

I am by no means an expert in the area of amp building but I can usually follow through a thread if I read it enough times. However, your quote above ..................???
Other than the relay, I understand that you are not asking for help, instead you are showing your work. However, the same part of me that would help a blind man from wandering into the street without being asked, needs to 1+ on concern for your safety.
Unconventional layout and component selection makes it pretty impossible for people to help you should the build not work.
Lastly, why are you filling the amp with Black Beauties. These were know for their leakage when they were new! 40+ years isn't going to help that, are you testing them?
i think you guys are a little confused about what lead dress means.
when I have leads to dress I'll take care of it.
The point of lead dress is to create networks of low/high impedance signal wires.
If you guys are looking at the wiring and thinking that it looks dangerous because it looks cluttered and messy, that's fine.
If you see any places where I've bundled in phase single, crossed impedance matched wires, or placed ac/dc lines in awful places please let me know.
The amp will work. A 4 stage preamp is simple compared to what I usually like to build.
I'm just confused about the solid state relay, footswitch network aspect of the amp.
edit: on the black beauties. i've got a zillion of them. I'll test every one for leakage once i have the power supply in place. I just tested them for value before I put them in.
I think they look pretty. That's about the only reason. Otherwise I would have used auricaps.
