I've seen that amp in person. Apparently a guy bought it for $85,000 a few years ago an just recently finished paying it off.

So that is #115?

So say the amp is worth $50K, the speaker cab is worth $35K?

I've played this amp as well, agree with Tony's assessment. More expensive than it was when I played it, though that was a couple of years ago.

WOW, Crazy pricing! I just blows me away. With the current economy, dealers are offering about 20K for the ODS heads, and trying to sell for 30k-ish. Where does $85K come from? There are 2 Dumbles for sale in the Dallas area right now, and combined they're not 85K. Crazy. But good luck to the seller.

AFAIK The earlier ODS's Classics and earlier Skyliners Non HRM's seem to fetch a larger premium (regardless of performance) I guess due to the rarity..115 is a pretty low ser# and
AFAIK is in it's original state (even has orig caps) w matching orig cab (Bruce even has the orig D-Lator) and covered in suede..A real collectors D-dream piece and IMO the main reason for the premium...It's alot of money for sure!!
Were the ones in Dallas of the same generation?

Yup, for sale by the daughter of the original owner who was a close friend of mine. He once showed me the original sales invoice for which he had paid $1700 each for them. Not a bad investment. They were posted on this forum for a while. Everbody speculated who they could belong to. (I told them whos they were, but was ignored) Several dealers, and even a few members of this forum made offers. She told me $28K was the highest offer she got. It's very easy to put these prices on them, but what they actually bring is often times a whole other story.

Don't get me wrong, I love the tone of these things, the history, the whole 9 yards, but unless there is something historically significant about this particular amp, or any for that matter $85K.......not gonna happen. 59 Flametops are not going for $600k these days either. Sign of the times. In 2007, I remember ODS #7 going for 50k-ish If I remember right at the Dallas Guitar Show.
