standalone reverb unit project

Post by fopoman »

I've noticed with the matchless reverb unit, the reverb pan is underneath the chassis. Why is this?

Reverb transducers can pick up hum from the power transformer, so by putting the tank underneath like that they're using the chassis as a shield. Probably lets the cabinet be smaller.

My other thought was "They couldn't get away with that if they were using some real output tubes.."
