New Bench Setup - Speaker Switching?

Gentlemen -

In the process of gutting a couple of old tube Wurlitzer organs and converting the cabinets to my new workbenches. Intend to keep one of the power amps to drive the speakers in one of the cabs for music-while-I-work, etc.

These guys have headphone jacks with inbuilt SPDT switch connecting TIP to one thing or another that would let me use these speakers as a test load. My questions are:

1) Can I count on the SLEEVE terminal of a speaker jack to be grounded? (not on some SS types, I know)
2) Is it a bad thing to connect two speaker jack SLEEVEs if the TIPs are isolated?

Expecting to combine the two hinged keyboard mounts into a chassis cradle on one of them.

1.) never assume anything - meter it and know.
2.) isolated in what way? if you tap on to part of an isolated circuit it's no longer isolated as it is sharing with whatever you joined it to. if you mean adding a second connector to an isolated Cliff style jack? - sure go ahead. best advice review the schematic and see how it's wired, figure out exactly what it is you want or need the circuit to do and adjust it to meet your goal.
