relay question for normster...
I'm building a relay board for 2 dpdt relays and I'm using your switching layout from your 6v6 build. I've got the Radio Shack 6-0-6 PT. It looks like you have the CT (black) wired between the diodes and one of the 6VAC leads to the junction of the caps. I wired the board according to the layout with no luck. I must be missing something. Are the lead colors reversed in your layout? Thanks, James
Re: relay question for normster...
It shouldn't matter if the leads are reversed since it's just AC anyway. The circuit is a voltage doubler which is why I use the center tap and one leg. (Tape the other leg off. It's not used.) It should be giving your about 18VDC without a load. If you use both hot leads the circuit is about 30VDC. Whatever you do, don't ground the center tap. The transformer will get smokin' hot.jngreene79 wrote:I'm building a relay board for 2 dpdt relays and I'm using your switching layout from your 6v6 build. I've got the Radio Shack 6-0-6 PT.
