Rocket PT question / opinions?

I currently have two tube amps:

AX84 HO with a EL34 currently but still has the noval for an EL84
I have a Rockblock with ECC99 or ECC802 (great little amp btw)

I am planning to do a champ clone with an octal, as well.

But, I am planning to do the TW rocket. My question is with my existing amps, should I do a rocket with octal or noval? 4 EL84s? or 2? with a VVR will it sound good at half the volume? I can also pull two tubes out so there's half the amp PT engaged as well, right?

Since many of you have build many versions of the rocket with different PTs, some w/two, some 4, I figured I would ask the experts what THEY would do.
