SO, no real surprises in there. Its a great amp, really good sounding thing, and incredibly nicely wired. Theyve taken the bad feedback obviously from the previous model ( which i owned) and fixed those issues.
My brother has a couple of my amps, and loves them, but he just laybyed one of these things, i could not build it for the money, might get one meself!
Its pretty true to the real deal, lots of filtering tho, no EF86, but pure tone and lots of it.
There is a spot im trying to work out tho.
It has 10K's in series with the 220K grid leaks, between either grid leak and coupling cap. Theyre joined on a turret and i cant see under the board to see whats on the other end of that turret.
It has a hot/cold switch that just lifts the tonestack, usable but a pretty big boost.
Runs around 335 B+, 120R/220uf cathode.
Also has a 270R sitting beside the 120R cathode tied at the hot side.
Droppers from the screen node, 22K PI, 10K CF/2nd gain stage, 22K V1
47uf filters averywhere cept the screens which have 22uf
Anyone have some clues on those 10K's on the gridleaks?
Anyone been in the new handwired AC15? I just have been..

Just wondering if you figured out what the extra resistors were?

Nope. But im in the midst of a build and im gonna see what happens with them in, only way to find out!

Worked it out. Its part of the master volume circuit.
The amp has a crossline master using a 200K audio pot. As it also has a cut control wired in the same spot, the 10k resistors isolate the 2 circuits letting them behave nicely. The attenuation factor is negligible 220/220+10=less than one percent loss. Cut control is on the coupling cap side and the master is inserted right on the 220k/10k junctions.
The grids of the power tubes are fed from the master junctions too.
The master in this amp sounds pretty decent, im a fan of ppimv's but they can sound a bit grainy down too low, all mv's have pros and cons, theres never anything better than tubes working and speakers working harder, but they have their place for sure.
I was gonna ppimv this amp, interested to try the crossline tho. the 200k pot is a little odd tho, usually see a 500K or 1meg.
