Celestion Heritage G12-65 (reissue)
Anyone that has these . . . where do you get them?
I haven't had much luck finding them and would like to check them out.
Been checking Avatar but they say they didn't get them in yet. Also hoping the price will not be too outrageous, wondering what people are paying. thanks

Re: Celestion Heritage G12-65 (reissue)
The price is going to be high from what I understand. I think $169.00 or so if I read right. I have (2) 4X12's with G12-65's in them all original. Look at my avatar.

Celestion was nice enough to front me a couple evaluation units and all I can say is WOW. These are very nice speakers.
Here are a few video clips of my son, Travis, playing the 12-65's driven by one of my 100 watt heads. Audio is not the best, but you can get the idea.

BTW, I have not noticed any weird cone crys or ghost notes with these speakers.
They are a bit pricey, I think the street prices are around $170.00.

Re: Celestion Heritage G12-65 (reissue)
Thanks guys, I guess I'll have to get some eventually.
It seems they are usually used in twos (or 4), I'm curious to see what one would sound like in a combo amp, or closed back 1X12 with port tubes.

Gary, I like the way your son Travis plays, articulate w/o splattering the audience with 3000 notes, as a lot of players seem to do. Hey what happened to the drummer and bass player?

Well the drummer (my son) and the bass player (me) were sitting drinking beerBobW wrote:Gary, I like the way your son Travis plays, articulate w/o splattering the audience with 3000 notes, as a lot of players seem to do. Hey what happened to the drummer and bass player?

Actually that jam normally does not have drums and bass. They usually have anywhere from 1 to 5 kid guitar players. It can get real interesting at times.

The only pedals he uses is a Digital delay and Univibe. The amp was running in HRM mode. It has both available.mat wrote:Gary, very good sounding amp ! Did Your son use any pedals and is the amp HRM or non (or both) ?

I need some help too -
Will a Celestion Heritage G12-65 work alone (1x12") in a open back combo?
Doing the full ODS mod to a Vibroclone with a slightly oversized cab made for a 15".

Re: Celestion Heritage G12-65 (reissue)
Bought one from avatar. It's in a 1-12" half-open-back cabinet. I'm happy I rolled the dice. The amp is a 40W odious. Have to watch the absolute volume when cranking the clean.

						Re: Celestion Heritage G12-65 (reissue)
I got one from Avatar about three weeks ago. It seems to work fine in my 50W combo at "lower" volumes, and I think the tone is great.
I presume you would want the 8 ohm not 16, depending on what output tranny your Vibroclone has.
I tried the speaker in a 1X12 ported cab (closed back) designed for an EV12. Plenty of bottom end (a bit too much IMHO). I'm saving up to get another, I'm sure I'll like it in the 2X12 (open back) w/100W head.
