My first build! yey!
I am trying to work-out a grounding scheme....Some questions have come-up.
Why does Fender (mid 60's blackface) wire each output tube cathode to the chassis, right next to each power tube? Why not run each output tube cathode back to the place where the Power supply tranny secondary center-tap connects to the chassis? (the same place where the ground of the big reservoir cap connects to)?? I.e., star-connect the output tube cathodes to where the PS center tap is connected to the chassis?
The cathode currents of the output tubes would have to flow through the chassis to get back to the center tap of the power supply secondary, wouldn't they?

Re: grounding questions
Yes. Do it the way you suggest, not the F way.
Re: grounding questions
Ahhh...yes...nothing like the thrill of the first time. Enjoy!!
And..while you are at it (if you are doing a fixed bias plan)...consider slipping in a 1 ohm resistor between the cathode and the grounding point so that you can easily measure current flow. You will definitely thank yourself later.
Good luck!!
