OT Primary Leads?

Post by raveonstevie »

I was running the two triodes of V1 in series, like a JCM800, I guess. Then I changed the circuit and was only using the first triode of V1, with the second triode out of the circuit.

Does that change the phase so that the outer leads of the OT primary need to be switched? Or would they stay on the same tubes?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

The critical section is the phase inverter, power tube, and the OT, which is all inside the negative feedback loop. Anything you do before the PI won't change the phase relationships within the loop.

Thank you! That explains a lot. Not that I fully understand the phase inverting, but that answers some questions.

It won't change phase relations within the loop, but if you remove 1 gain stage, it will reverse the phase on the output.
