I bought a "broken" Peavey Classic 50 4x10 some time ago. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with it. And, I was able to sell the chassis for more than I bought the whole amp for. It's nice to get a cab and speakers for free once in a while I've now completed a Rocket made in a custom chassis to fit this 4x10 combo.
I may eventually redo the tolex (not me personally) as it is rather poorly done, and cover the back panel, but for now, economic conditions dictate that I live with it as is. The only thing left to do is complete the wiring of the VVR once I get some MOSFET insulators.

Very Cool! Gotta love BNP!
How do you like the VVR in this plan? Can't zoom in close enough to see it's implementation. Whole amp or just the power section?
Thanks everyone. She sounds great. The 4x10 makes it sound bigger than I expected. My other Rocket is a traditional build - a head in a pretty wooden cab, and I generally run it through a mid-late 70's Marshall 1960a with 2 Celestions and 2 JBL's. But wonderfully, this combo sounds just as big.
Regarding my Avatar - I am a P90 fanatic. I love Juniors, Coronets, etc. Except for the Coronet though, these guitars are all new or new-ish Custom Shop pieces. I don't have the cash for vintage guitars. The SC Junior and SC Special are both VOS, and the DC Junior is a straight Historic. The Coronet, on the other hand, is a real deal 1964 Coronet with all original electronics. The tuners are repros (I have the originals) and the bridge is a Tone Pros (I have the original there as well, but it cannot be used due to a small crack).
Lately, I have been diversifying a bit - just completed a parts-o-Esquire build that came out steller. Now considering a parts-o-Cabronita as the next one in the stable.

The VVR is not hooked in yet. I don't have any insulators for the MOSFET, so I have to wait for them to arrive (and they are backordered - doh!). It will scale the whole amp. I've done this before on my other Rocket, and the results are great. I place the board after the first two filters and the bleeder resistors, and just before the standby switch. I do it before the standby instead of after mainly out of laziness - I didn't want to have to tie the choke and OT CT to a terminal strip and then run from the terminal strip to the VVR board.

How bout a belly Rocket? This is a custom graphic made up for an amp we called the "Rail Rockit"
