Kinda hard to take someone's word on an amp that may reach $4 to $10,000.

The builder obviously did not take the time to rebuild the amp but I see a bunch of things in there that make me very much believe that mr. Dumble worked on that amp. And I'm sure that amp can sound great the way it is designed.

Thanks for posting that!

No reason not to believe..

Sucks to let it go, especially if HAD had his hands inside that amp.

What is missing is the HAD nolooky/notouchy sticker.

I will send a couple of the pictures to Alexander and see what he says.

I had a customer let me peek inside his "Hotel Hog" when I had my shop in Southern Ca. His was a SF Deluxe. If I remember correctly the mod takes the normal channel and uses it as an extra gain stage. The one I saw had some 470k/500pf networks added and the usual 4.7uF bypass caps. The Normal channel tone controls are disabled. A small dc supply and relay are added to make the effect footswitchable.

I don't remember being interested enough to actually listen to what it sounded like so I can't comment on that....

He doesn't do that on all amps. My Ultraphonix, which was built in 2009, has no sticker either. I got all the paperwork from him, the handwriting on that little note is for sure Dumble's.

Nice playing, but in that second clip, is it me, the recording, or does that thing have the $hittiest bass response ever?? OUCH! Fart city. :? Maybe the video is clipping the bottom? Never heard anything quite like that. It actually sounds like its shorting out or something.

Yeah it doesn't sound that great. Maybe with the right player it could sing. Too bad no overdrive demo, just the clean cranked up.
