Disposing old electronics
I have an annoyingly large stash of old electrolytics that was given to me a while back. Some useful stuff was included, but a majority (about two large moving boxes worth) are big old electrolytics that are puffy and smelly. I also have a lot of useless transformers, a few huge ones and a lot of SS based stuff that I don't have a use for. What is the proper way for me to dispose of all of this? Can I pull the transformers apart and sell the copper? Is there any other way to make a few bucks off of this stuff?

Re: Disposing old electronics
call the city most now offer electronic waste disposal (E-Waste) recycling.
If you really feel you can get more for the copper then the time it takes to strip it and remove it. contact your local recycling center.

Sometimes transformer bells come in handy. So they may be usefull one day.

Cliff...
Copper is selling at over $4.00 lb and the transformers are worth
money just as scrap.. The Big computer grade caps are aluminum
breakage and worth money too.
I would take your stash to a metal/scrap recyling yard and see what you
can get, I suspect you'll be .
