Hello everyone,
I recently joined this forum to seek out information and advice on acquiring a dumble clone amp within the $1500-$1800 range.
I've been watching the posts on this site as far as reviews go, but I wanted to ask you what, In your opinion, would be the best dumble clone for a musician with a limited budget.
I've looked into Fuchs, Ceriatone, as well as Brown Note but I want to get all the facts to make an educated decision.
I look forward to getting some info back from you all, as you all for the most part, seem very well educated on this subject.

Thats a difficult price range. I have never played a Ceraitone, but thats one option. Another (and I know these sound GREAT) is sending Any Fuchs a donar amp (i think they are listed on his site) and have him mod it for you. He modded a Music man for me, and it sounded sensational. I only sold it due to financial hardship from the economy. I really wish I could have held on to that thing.

I agree with Mr. Dumble. That's a difficult price range.
I have a Fuchs ODS-50. It's a very good amp. I love the reverb and parallel effects loop. I feel like the OD tone is lacking compared to some clips I have heard. Also, the clean channel doesn't have the capability for chime that I am after. I use it in combination with another amp to fill in what I feel is missing. With all that being said, it is the best amp I own currently.
You can find a Fuchs on Ebay/CList in that price range if you are patient.
Best of luck.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.......

I've taken a look at Redplate amps before, most of them are out of my price range. Though they do sound excellent.
I understand it's a difficult pricerange as well. I'm rather interested in what people here have to say about the Ceriatone HRM and Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster amps. I have read many posts about these amps, but I figured I'd try to find information from people who have actually played through these amps. From what I understand their build quality is excellent for the price-range, that and Nik is excellent with his customer service, he's answered many questions for me. But I want to get opinions from the musicians who use them, not the owner and amp maker.

Re: Dumble Clones
Are you good with a soldering iron and have you ever built anything electronic?
This is a builders forum so many of us can't really recommend a commercially produced amp because we build them.
Well maybe Tag can....
Ceriatone is most probably the cheapest solution.
Some guys order them without trasnformers to save on the shipping weight.
The OTS is the basic model that started the whole thing.
Then the HRM, with the second tone stack on the overdrive channel.
The HRM Bluesmaster is a different beast but is supposedly more of a rock amp than the others. Some say smoother sounding overdrive.
Don't forget the speaker cab as well.
There are some great 1x12 cabs these days but I refuse to use anything smaller than a 2 x 12.
Two speakers come to mind for use with the ODS clone.
Two speakers come immediately to mind.
The Celestion G12-65 (around $180 each) and the Electro-Voice EVM 12L Classic. around $200 each)
There are other speakers that will sound fine and it is totally subjective so that's up to you to decide.
