"Victim of Love" by the Eagles. A great example of less is more and smooth use of the slide as well. Joe Walsh has always played great leads with a style that is instantly recognizable by anyone except him. He was so out of it when he did the stuff for Richard Marx that later upon hearing it he commented that" the leadwork was great, who did it" ? And, who could forget "The Rocky Mountain Way". How about some love guys ?

Blue Sky gets a nod from me. I can always make time to hear that song.
Anything by Jeff Beck is inspirational.
Acoustically - Mr Hedges. Aerial Boundaries is short but full of magic.

True story. He did the same thing at the two concerts I went to see.M Fowler wrote:I met Jeff Healey![]()
Jeff drank cups of keg beer all night during his performance, his guitar tech would bring them out to the mike cup holder as fast as Jeff could suck them down and he would toss the plastic cups at the audience.![]()

Wow, lot of good solos here. I would say Peter Greene for Albatross, but we can't forget Carlos Santana for his Soul Sacrafice Jam @ Woodstock. and also Peter Framton's Do You Feel(like I do).I could go on there are so many good ones.

+1000 on anything Allan Holdsworth.billyz wrote:Allan Holdsworth with Tony Williams- Believe it.
Great to see that there are other Holdsworth fans on this forum. I was going to start a thread on him as his tone is so unique and very "horn like". He sounds like himself no matter if he's playing on a Twin, a Pearce, a Yamaha modeling amp, a Boogie, or his latest Hughes & Kettner amps. He's the nicest chap in the world too. So much brilliant music.

Kind of out of left field here, but
Roy's solo on Lonesome Fugitive
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl47Rrr9f0o
is unbelieveable. 1:50 and turn it up! That sound could cut glass!
The original on that solo is the master, James Burton.
Burton's solo on Rodney Crowell's original of Leaving Louisiana
in the Broad Daylight, is perfection-perfect tone, perfect touch,
8 bars, absolutely not one wasted note.
Just a little curve ball guys.
