I really meant just the Tea part...so instead of putting a fixed cap across the pF part, there's a fixed cap and you can dial it in.

Looks like a variable "mid boost" ala the ODS.

So is this the circuit?
Here it is, straight from Kendrick. The 14K slope resistor seems quite strange, 56K or 100K would be better IMO. Also note that the 100p bright cap is hard-wired.

Inspired wood working on your part, must have kept you busy. I've never seen or heard of this Ampeg. It appears the baffle is angled downward, if true that's odd.

mod was really a neat little feature. Kinda like the idea as just a switch. how would I go about installing it as a switch? It sounded best when fully dimed anyways.

The pot is used as a variable resistor - determine the amount of resistance when in the preferred position and wire that to a ON/OFF switch. OFF - open circuit (No series RC in parallel with standard network), ON - add RC.
