Is the 6.3v @ 500ma a relay supply?

Re: EL34 based amps ...... PT Questions
Hey all,
I'm trying to source a 100W PT within the EU to reduce shipping costs and to avoid 25% import taxes.

I would like to run the amp with EL34 or 6L6 tubes.
What do you guys think about this PT:
http://www.ig-transformatoren.com/produ ... 4_100.html
Specs are:
Primary: 0/230/240 Volt
Secondary:
175/0/175 Volt(AC) @ 0.48A (AC)
0/100 Volt(AC) @ 0.05mA ( AC)
0/12.6 Volt(AC) @ 1.2A (AC)
0/6,3 Volt @ 8A (AC)
Bridge rectifying the 175/0/175 w/o center tap should yield something like 490 DC @ 0.480A.
Do you think that this voltage might be too high for the 6L6s?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
Peace,
Markus

Re: EL34 based amps ...... PT Questions
Do any of you folks who've built a blue monkey 88 reverb know what the specs on that PT are?
Heyboer HTS-9402 marked on mine, but no documentation other than wiring map.

Bob, I've forgotten what Moss told me when I asked way back. For the BM88 that I built I used a super duty Twin PT that I spec'd from Heyboer.

Re: EL34 based amps ...... PT Questions
Hey Johan,
thanks a lot for your help!

It seems that the Twin PTs have only 5.5A at the heaters. Four EL34 plus 4 12ax7 would need 7.2A.
The IG 100W EL34 PT would fit nicely with 8A for the heaters. Also it's about half the price....
Peace,
Markus
Re: EL34 based amps ...... PT Questions
Sorry to bump it

Do you think that 175/0/175 Volt(AC) @ 0.48A (AC) bridge rectified may result in too high DC voltage for the 6L6 at idle (probably something like 100-120 mA)?
Will 480 mA be enough for 4 6L6?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Peace,
Markus
