Tube cross ref's and production codes

Post by Aurora »

I'm planning to tidy up my stash during the winter, and take som inventory.
Among all my stash, I have around 25-30 cuft of assorted tubes that have been in my store for 20 years or more- mostly signal and preamp tubes, Thay are all genuine NOS, mainly from military surplus, and some from my own work. There's a fair amount of CVs and JANs in between, but I've never taken the time to catalogue them. They are mostly RCAs, GE, Mullard and Siemens.

Does anyone have good cross reference lists, or links to sites that have them?
Also - some people seem to be very interested in production codes... of which I've found very little info...???

Duncan Munro's TDSL works as a good cross reference tool. Free download. http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/index.php

I've lost track of where to find production codes. I'm pretty sure someone knows where to find time.

Oh - I forgot the VTs.....

Thanks guys.....

CV492s..? I don't know.....I'll try to remember when I get around this.
I've been planning to do this for quite a long time now, but I'll probably not get going until after X-mas, - it's all work for the next 5-6 weeks, - hardly any spare time at all.
I know I have quite a lot of 12Axx-s, 6Sxx, but there's a lot of other stuff in there, - probably some collectors stuff and some gems too............
I'll probably trade or sell some, as there's a lot more than I need...

EDIT: CV492s? Marked as CV492 or 12AX7 s??

haha.. better look on ebay at those.. there are alot of CV and M tubes out there.. military M8137 Mullard.. many under philips and made by many companies. cv 4004 once you cross those, they come up even more. Then the jems would be tubes that are similar in specs but the pin out is different. Small rewire on a sockt you then can use the tube.
Also look, many tube companies made adapters. Plug that in the socket.. then plug in the other tube. Like a box full of Ecc808 or E283cc

good luck on your hunt/cleaning.

Go to www.audiotubes.com and click on European Tubes and Telefunken tubes. Everything about everything except Mazda, Radio Technique, and a few others.

Also I just found this on EBay at thetubeking site (see below attached). Very useful.
