Power switch is new from Mouser, caps were tested before put in the circuit, I tested the 2 rectifiers I have with a tube tester. They are both good so who knows and yes my fuses are 2 amp slo-blo. I will see if it holds there a 2.5A slo-blo instead.

Do you have another rectifier to try? Increasing the fuse capacity is NOT the right answer. Get another GZ34.
Wife: How many amps do you need?

So you think I should try another one uh? I will try a new production JJ and see if it holds.

Ok I tried the JJ, turned on and off 5 times, the last time it blew the fuse. I know that tube is fine. Is there a posibility the fuse holder could be bad? or the power switch? or the tube socket?

Are any of the solder connections on the Rec tube socket pins close to touching? It could be arching.

All the connections on the socket had been checked.

UPDATE:I think the fuse holder was actually the problem. I didn't like the fact that it seems it wasn't making proper contact so I replaced it and the first 10 times I did the on-off it holded.
Before I couldn't do that 5 times straight without blowing the fuse.
