I come by here, renew my interest and learn a ton about Dumble's and amps in general. I try to contribute where I can.
Then the bickering starts.
What're we... 2 ?
Come on guys, if you want to bicker take it off-line. What every happened to what your Mom taught you...

Really...?? 7 pages on an amp and you have to weed through 20 posts to find the really useful information... and IT IS really useful information at that.
the stompbox forums that I lurked before I came here were much worse... another community that I was a part of eventually split into multiple groups with competing forums... for the benefit of the group everyone should play nice and be civil.
Maybe they should have a catfight thread and just move bickering posts there and let people have it out. Freestomp has that and it works quite well.
No censoring, no locked threads. I think their up to 85 pages or so and you'd be amazed at how well behaved most people are when these things are allowed to run their course, and it frees up the threads for real info. Just a thought.

Since it is a public forum, the members not embarrassing themselves in the catfight could award or deduct points for:
* Wordsmanship
* Presentation of the argument with supporting statements
* Spelling errors and factual inaccuracies.
Basically develop some debating skills at the amusement of others.
Part 5 offers help if all went wrong and there should be a serious risk that you may become a part of the collateral damage of a flame war: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2kdpAGDu8s
Start early enough! Start now! And as you will probably know how hard it is to deal with the own bad habits, the most recommendable way into a better world is of course teaching other people manners!
I know most of us resent the heavy handed moderating done at The Gear Page, and their membership is much larger but, if you start deleting things or suspending members, then most of this won't happen.
But most probably the current moderators don't want that job.
Then again, it usually simmers down after a while and everybody is happy again.
I think the biggest problem is a certain non builder that is a troll and likes to stir up controversy.

Mama watching over us isn't the answer

Just my 2 cents.
And teases the shit outta some folks with gut shots and information that will never be shared. Then we have to read through 15 pages of bickering to get to the real information. Ifn'z you'z ain't gonna share, fine, just keep your mouth shut about what you have.
I want to stay out of the flame throwing threads, but then suddenly there's details about a specific amp, or general technical info that's really great stuff.
You seem to get that in almost every forum you see.Dont like it either. And I dont think Robben Ford is all that either...WHOA DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD?!?!?!?!?
