Mounting chassis in a head/combo
A lot of the builds I do are in recycled project boxes and such and usually don't have the standard provisions for securing the chassis to a cabinet. Are there any common methods for doing this? I can think up all sorts of goofy ways to keep a chassis still but nothing that is very convenient to build/operate.. I really want to mount the chassis to the top of a combo but the only way I can think of to do this is to build a shelf. This sorta limits me to a 1x12 combo unless I get especially creative. Any suggestions?

Run screws all the way through the chassis.
Or use threadserts in the chassis flange.
Angle stock or pre-made brackets will work too.

Worked for Fender. Worked on my early Traynor (before they did the way-cool works-in-a-drawer trick).dynaman wrote:Run screws all the way through the chassis.
Just make sure the screws are well clear of the circuit.
