Hi all ,
the BF245b JFet can be a good replacement for the NTE standard fet?

I couldn't get mine working, it may have been damaged. FETs are very sensitive. I used 2sk30a and it works very good.

I don't place often order to Mouser ,I live in Europe and 2n4416A is difficult to found.

2N5486 from Central Semiconductor worked well for me. Don't know how easy they are to find in Europe, but shouldn't be too difficult.

The 2N4416 is available from various European distribs. You may use the BF245, BF256, 2N5486, MPF102 and other equivalent fets.

My local supplier has the NTE 452.

I believe he quoted me a price of $8 or so, is that correct?

I would have to look, but I bought some cheap surplus FETs that were listed as what the NTE 452 replaces in the NTE paper catalog, but NONE of them would test as a FET in one of my testers. These FETs have an internal buffer. I shall have to find them, as with the buffer they really worked great! 2N4416AJFET There they are.
