The 300mA PT is what Ken used. I can see backing off of that as it's overkill, but it will change how the amp performs. I have built dozens of Liverpool type amps using both the 5199 and the Pacific PT. They both work out well within spec for a Liverpool or Express with the filament voltage being nuts on 6.3V with only 1 or 2 that were around 6.6V. Is having all the other taps a detriment to the PT? I think not. Do some searches Mark, and I am sure you'll find lots of info when it comes to TW transformers. However, nothing is stopping you from doing a Liverpool with a 200mA PT.

If I were to make a replica of an amp, or clone, I would try to follow the design parameters that the original designer set forth.
So if he used a transformer that had a larger than necessary capacity, I would use it because it may be key to the sound of the amp.

So power and filtering should be key ingredients or foundation of the amp.

Thank You Mark for putting this together... it's a great resource.

When you read these voltage ratings you want to be aware that Heyboer uses an unloaded specification and Pacific (and Edcor) use a loaded rating... ultimately this has been measured out to show that the actual voltages attained with the Heyboers and Pacifics are the same.
