Liverpool - start up problem free (almost). Added a 1k into the pre-amp second stage. Mainly to stop it squealing at some settings.
This one's for my son-in law. Tweek to his tastes next. He likes aggressive amps, so this should be pretty close already. 8)

Beautiful! Congratulations on a very nice amp!

The only thing my father-in-law gives me are dirty looks... :?

Chad -more grind than my express - brutal springs to mind. Fun though.

Great looking amp Bob. Your son in law will be thrilled I'm sure. Is that a poly finish over Cherry?

Jim - Got a tip from Structo - it's Tru Oil - a gun stock oil. Great for geetar necks too. Easy to apply, so I like it.

Hey RJ - my son in law just took her away for appraisal. Told him to interview her for a week or 2 and write down his thoughts/opinions. Even gave hime some different pre-amp tubes to try in V1 (5751 & 7025s).
When he brings her back I'll take some gut shots.
Can caps - still can't bring myself to stack caps. Power supply dropper resistors mounted at the can cap. RV4 pots. Sacrilege I know, but the rest is pretty much stock. I think I might try an input resistor at the first stage - his main squeeze is an old LP with humbuckers. It sounded a bit more over the top with his Les Paul than when I tried it with a strat.
Anyway, I'll post the updates with gutshots.

Mark - can't wait to build myself a rocket reverb. KT66 I think...
I've ended up with 2 spare drawers - mis-calculation on my part.
Gotta do something with them. Stands to reason.
The sickness continues...

Bob, yeah that is a great combination for sure.

I'm eye balling rjguitars new chassis for two KT88 or whatever you want to put in. It's a larger chassis thought, but high quality.

Can never have enough amps but I need to hit the wood shed and build some 212 cabs for all these amps I have.
