Dammit Jim, I'm an amp doctor, not a computer programmer!
Life is a tale told by an idiot -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Does this amp double as a computer for surfing the net during break time on gigs?
High quality crap there
ribbon cable and all.

A couple of people are raving about them on the Gear Page, I swiped a gut shot for your viewing pleasure. Construction appears to be second to none... NOT

Yes, sorry I did have the sarcasm button depressed, it just didn't register.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:A assume "nice cabinet and pcb's" was tongue in cheek ?

I really, really hate chip board. It has no place at all in the music industry unless it is to build stage sets.
Even MDF is better than that crap.
The electronics look like something Uncle Fester cobbled together.
Then again, if I was a 10 year old and just got a Squier strat, this might be fun.
I do have to confess I bought a GDEC a few years ago to mess around on.
It was pretty pathetic as well.

Hmm, let's see: Add the prices of all those vintage amps together, and we see that this sweet amp should sell for $6299.99. So, what's the actual street price? $170? BARGAIN!
I just got back from giving a guitar demo to a 7th grade class, with all their Crate and Line 6 amps. Sure, there's a market!

Another proud birth from Fender.
How long until modeling amps start modeling each other?
Where is the Line6 preset?
I've got no problem with the all in one amps as long as they are priced cheap and no one brings them in the studio and expects them to sound like a tube stack. I hate those conversations, almost as much as an honest, I want to sound like...

It has already happened, sort of. I've seen a VST (computer) plugin modelling a Tech 21 Samsamp. I.e a digital model of a transistor model of a tube amp. Wierd...selloutrr wrote:Another proud birth from Fender.

Hi!
Well, I've not tested one of those...
Cabinet made of genuine chirp
board? Waaay cool.
Better have a NO SUCK knobbie.
Ciao
Martin
PS: If you get some kinda funny noise out of it, its fine with me. I remember one of Henry Kaisers vids (w. Teuffel Tesla guitar) with some lil cheap Fender on top of his other Amps. Depends on the desired tone.

I'm not impress by the low quality cabinet and the Chinise made PCB ... no not for me. Modeling amp sound cheap to my ears, I had a Line 6 and sold it.
Now I have real tone with my JTM45 clone, not as many tones as a modeling amp, but a real good one!

Re: Fender Mustang 1 Modeler
Chipboard....i agree....the stuff is to tone what dental disease is to teeth. I've changed amps from chipboard to pine or plywood by either going to a different cab or building a combo cab out of real wood and gotten results that were nite and day. It's unreal what horrible things that junk does to tone. but i guess when manufacturers are building amps whose chassis cost a buck fifty to manufacturer, they probably can't stomach the idea of putting it in a cabinet that cost 10 times more than that to make. It's the Ikea of amp design.
