Speaker advice requested
OK guys I'd like some advice on a 12" speaker for my Express & Liverpool. I have a closed back cabinet with a horizontal port in front and would like to load it with a 12" speaker. I already have a 12"-V30 in a closed back cabinet, a 10" Weber California in an open back cabinet and an open back cabinet with a 12" Weber Silver Bell and Blue Pup (nice sound!) What I'd like is a speaker with: low efficiency-non biting top end (mellow treble) & start to break up at the upper volume of an Express (35/40 watts). I'm not interested in a volume monster with this cabinet. More of mellower tone with some possible crunch when pushed. Any advice? I'm looking to buy used BTW so EBAY or anyone selling a speaker is fair game. Thanks

Scumback M75, in the 65 watt version. Maybe a couple layers of felt in front of the speaker, at least for a few months until it's fully broken in.

Yep, 65W Scumback M75 is what you want.
A single one can work really well with the Express and Liverpool.

Thanks for the recommendation, sir! When are you actually in LA for awhile? My new demo room should be up and running in about a week. Email me.paulster wrote:Yep, 65W Scumback M75 is what you want.
