Schematic Heaven

Post by marcoloco961 »

Does anyone know what happened to Schematic Heaven.

It has been shut down for about a week now. It re-directs and says something about suspended in the address.

Just curious, it is one of my favorite site to browse and check out and compare different types of amp circuits?

Yes but some of the files are not there when you click on them. :(
If it says "Vintage" on it, -it isn't.

That link isn't really a mirror, it's an archive of Schematic Heaven at the Wayback Machine : http://www.archive.org/web/web.php .

You can view webpages how they looked at different points in time, and the database is huge. For example, here is a page from Engrish.com as it appeared in 2003 : http://web.archive.org/web/200302050912 ... cover.html

Gack, I'd forgotten about wayback machine. Managed to recover some stompbox schemos when the coummunity's main site went away, using wayback.

What was the url for the site that had amp gut shots? Was taken down about 4 years ago? Great site.

Edited to add: It was acplink.com. Wayback has the shell, but was java-driven which wayback doesn't archive as well.

Sample of what -was- there form Dec 07 :(

Looks like whoever was paying the sponsorship ads ran out of money. The fate of sooo many websites

There is another site with a selection of schematics but it is not indexed (and it don't have a patch on SH)

I wish the owner (Larry?) would have spoke up and told us it was in trouble.

I think we could have scraped together some donations.

Maybe Mojo will pick it up like they did the Amp Field Guide.

I'm sure many of you go there at least once a day like I did to look at a schematic.
I downloaded most of the Fender schematics but they aren't all there as someone mentioned.

Be a shame if it disappeared permanently.

I agree. They might have been surprised by the number of us who would be happy to have SH around for a Miserly $10.00 a year. I hope it can be saved, but I know absolutely ZERO about running a website.......

I'd pledge $10 or $20!

C'mon, Larry (?) if you're reading this, set up a donations link! :D For real!

No doubt, I would throw some jack to keep it up and running. I use that site a lot. He could just set up a paypal acct. People could just contribute through it. Just sayin..........
