Three spring and looks like a long one.
There are various lengths and I believe that determines how strong of a reverb is developed.

six springs.... thats a type 9

you can ID by the bobbin color and by the DC resistance of the coils.

You can use just about any tank, its more a matter of impedance matching,
of which circuits will provide the best match to the coils in the tank, or vis-versa.

for type 9/8

type === impedance ===bobbin color===dc resistance

Input

A ===10 ===white ===.8
B===190 ===black === 26
C===240 ===violet ===27
D===310 ===brown ===36
E===800 ===orange===58
F===1926===red ===200

Output

A===600 === green ===42
B===2575 ===red ===200
C===1200 ===yellow===800

On the input, as the impedance goes up the driving current goes down.
Fender transformer drive type A can take 28 ma..
Ampeg capacitor coupled type F can only take 2ma..

decay time is a separate rating from type or the number of spring.
as it connector type, locking device( yes there is such a thing) and....
how the tank is designed to be mounted.
The accutronics site has good info.
