The amp sounds like 183 and has HUGE HUGE low mids. Don't be fooled by clips....

Proof, is you say that about all my clips!

I also will record the GW Phat Momma tomorrow on the same backing as I recorded 183. Let's see how similar they can sound!
Hey Scott, that sounds great, but IMO its still missing the lower mids, and has to much high end. Its nasally. What can you do technically that would add some lower mids? If you did not know what was in a Dumble circuit, and were trying to replicate the sound by ear, how could you get a bit more lower mids? IMO, that, and the vocal vowel like sound (almost like a built in wah pedal) are the two mysteries that no one has gotten yet, and I am hoping Shad can nail. (Sorry to pressure you Shadman, but I am counting on you!) #183 and the Blue line tone have huge lower mids. Its what gives them that big sound.

Scott. I have learned how much the digital recorder itself puts its own "stamp" on the final tone. No where near as true as analog recorders. The difference in tone with everything set exactly the same with the lone exception being my BR900 or BR 600 is amazing. I am sure it has a lot to do with it, but I am also sure there is a big difference between your clone and 183. Direct comparisons are essential. You have to get your "clone" and 183 side by side again! Would love to hear it!

I posted to show the low end. Tag thinks it has a different bottom. That is 100% wrong. Exactly the same.

I'm not hearing any of the pop & snap that 183 has

Scott, again, I can fool anyone with my emmy, Artist, Sig V1 or Custom. Its not hard to do. You were fooled by thev CA, which is VERY different after all! Listening back to my own clips I have to check my notes sometimes to see which is which. In person, its a different story as you know.

And also by tweaking the EQ on a clip to make the recording sound like another clip doesn't work for me

Lol. I bet we agree on many things. This is only silly guitar amplifiers after all. How we all get so worked up over it is stupid really.

Great phrasing in these clips. Tone is wonderful; I really love the bloom. Really good stuff, thanks for sharing.
