Mystery Dumble

Post by tubedogsmith »

These pictures were posted on another site some years ago and I've always wondered if anybody had first hand knowledge of the amp. I've not seen another one like it.

That is an odd one.
Looks like the serial says 005?

Interesting about the Trigger control for the overdrive.

Separate masters?

Any gut shots of this amp?

serial says 003. This is all I have. The chassis has some features of the mid '80's 3 piece bolt together chassis. The 003 serial number makes no sense. I wonder if it was a proto chassis for the HRM amps.

Looks like you are right about the number, I enlarged it and I think it is a 3 as well.

It's really too bad that HAD didn't conform to his serial number system as amps were finished.
The rumors abound about some guys waiting years, or quite a few months so that serial numbers may mean nothing as far as the dating of the amp goes.

I believe 'trigger' is the input trim.

If you zoom in it looks like the Kirk Hammet Steel String Singer faceplate, or closely resembling it IMO
