Deluxe Reverb PT and OT besides the Deluxe Reverb
my last build was a Princeton Reverb based amp
with Allen PT,OT and chassis...its nice
so I'm kinda looking for something a little different.

This would be a little different.so I'm kinda looking for something a little different.
good idea but my 5E3 might get mad and I'm not pissin her off6G3?
nice idea...great looking build...link to clip didn't work. This would be a little different.
Soundclip (rhythm/lead is the amp and the lead is towards end of tune) here:

With respect, 10thtx
cool idea..maybe a low watt HRM with EL34'sadd a filament transformer for the preamp tubes and make something with EL34's. The british tubes with american fender iron gives a nice tone.
I like it a lot. My fav is a tweed Super that I use with Zen Drive. Your amp looks like one of my future builds - all the correct features.10thTx wrote:This would be a little different.
I'm thinking I want to try a el34 buildI'd suggest you build the deluxe reverb to factory spec first then mod the circuit the changes are very easy and when using pull pots it looks stealth and no extra holes are drilled.
master volume and mid boost I understandbut a Deluxe reverb with some tasteful modifications
a master volume mod
sozo tone caps
pull pot mid boost
pull pot tone stack emulator
wire the reverb to work as a reverb or an extra gain stage. on a foot switch or pull pot
cascade the first gain stage.
El34's
Even if you could use some trick to lower the Va, the datasheet for EL34s shows that at a Va of 300 they still would be drawing 190 mA at max Ia, so there is just no way to use a pair of them with the OPs PT. He could use that PT for a single ended EL34 amp, but then would need a new OT.A 2xEL34 design just doesn't make sense for those trannies, since you'd have to add lots of series resistance before the plates and/or screens to stay within the PT's current rating
