The difference in sound and feel between the two preamps is not that severe, IF you dial in he HRM to sound NON HRM'ish, but there's a lot of tonal options in those three trimmers :-)
A valuable point - thank you.

For my own clarity, here - a Skyliner EQ is a non-HRM post-OD tone stack? (being a feature creep, the extra tone stack appeals)
Or is the Skyliner one of the clean channel tone stack variants?

Since this project is my first trip into the DumbleZone, I do want to cover the range a bit.

It seems Mr Ayan has done so and found a home in the #124. I aim to set out on the same sort of journey, but with fewer chassis crowding up the place.

Dang it - the PSU voltages (so far) are way off.

The PT is a 250-0-250 in a voltage doubler configuration - B+ looks like 650V with a Vscreen of 325V.

Gonna get a good copy of parallels and load Duncan's PSUD to see if I can get to a useable set of voltages with this PT. What are the B+1 and B+2 of the #124?

(While I'm asking, what about those voltages on a BM?)

If I have to get a different PT, I may just punt the conversion and try reworking CH2 to be an OD.

Seems close to Music Man voltages. HAD made several and folks here have made a few as well. Should work with no changes

B+1 = 440, B+2 = 438 is what I have written down. BM should be ~same, I would think, and very like a Twin Reverb. Fender schemes list various levels from 440-460 B+1 and 2V drop across the choke..

With voltages like that, don't I want 6550 or EL34 outputs?

I had thought I was headed toward a #124 - more to study.

Thank you, Bob!
