Dumble Steel String Singer 150W with Dumble 4x12" cabinet (EVM-12L)
Stevie Ray Vaughn, "Tin Pan Alley" (variations of a theme):

Stevie Ray Vaughan about his Singers (Guitar Player interviews):
Meanwhile, Vaughan has had a custom amp built by Dumble of Los Angeles. "I destroy everything eventually, because I play so hard," he explains. "I run 'em so hot. The thing about the Dumble is that it doesn't run hot, and so I don't have to worry about it."
(Guitar Player, August 1983)
You don't use the Super Reverbs now?
"Right now, I use a Dumble 150 watt. He calls it the Steel String Singer; I call it the King Tone Consoul [laughs] - that's s-o-u-l. It's like an overgrown Fender tube amp. Some Dumbles - like the Overdrive Special - you 've got to know what you 're doing with them, because they'll get away from you and take you with 'em."
(Guitar Player, October 1984)
Are your Dumbles Overdrive Specials?
"Steel String Singers. I like them much better."
(Guitar Player, Spring 1998)
"For a long time... I just used two Vibroverbs... to run the Leslie... and a Dumble with one cabinet."
(Guitar Player, February 1990)

1st generation Dumble ODS 50W - clean channel
Here are two clips with different clean channel flavors of a 1st generation ODS thru the 12” Celestion speaker of a White Amplification "Little Rock" combo and recorded at high volume. The clean channel (normal input) of this 1st generation amp was used for all the electric guitar sounds.
Song: "Keep On Cruising"
Harry Marte – lead vocals
Charly Bonat – guitar
Richard Seiz – bass
Armin Egle – drums
Martina Brecznik – background vocals
Paul Winter – background vocals
Record: Harry Marte "Angel Wings" http://www.audioty.com/sounds/marte.html
Guitars: '63 and '65 Stratocaster
"Keep On Cruising" video (poorer sound quality than clips of course): http://www.myspace.com/marteharry/videos
I've attached pictures of three examples of such a "1st generation" ODS.

There's a new released Rockpalast DVD with Roger McGuinns Thunderbird:
http://www.amazon.com/Mcguinns-Thunderb ... 540&sr=8-1
Rick Vito with his ODR #058.
I have not seen the DVD yet but I remember the concert from TV.
They were playin' right after Little Feat IIRC, so two different ODRs on the same stage that evening
. Enjoyed the show very much.
Cheers,
Juergen

thanks for the news, that this is available.
Concerning #058:
Rick Vito tells on page 8 of this "Tonequest Report" interview posted here by Tony (talbany): https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 568#130568 :
"Jackson Browne’s "Lawyers In Love" had some
good playing, especially the tracks, "Tender Is The Night",
and "For A Rocker" among others. This was when I switched
to the Dumble amp that Jackson subsequently very kindly
gave to me. The sound got much bigger and I was able to
expand my world a little after that amp."
And here you read that "Lawyers in Love" was published in 1983:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_Browne_discography
But this Rockpalast concert took place already 6 years before in 1977?
And aside from this, it would be rather surprising, at least IMO, to see a 3rd generation ODR as early as in 1977. I don’t remember a 3rd generation ODS or ODR that I have seen (in real live and on pictures) with dating codes (Atoms as an example) all from 1977 or earlier.
So are you really sure, taking into account all this, that you remember #058 on stage with Rick Vito as early as in 1977?
Thanks again for the link and all the best,
Max

... you really got me thinking ...
Of course you're right, the concert was much earlier.
It's been a year or so when german TV showed that concert again and I could swear I've seen the ODR in the background on stage.
I'll buy the dvd and report back.
Cheers

Re: Dumble video/sound clip reference, real Dumbles only please
Hi guys,
I remember the Roger McGuinn concert quite clearly, and I am
absolutely certain that Rick Vito was using a Fender Twin Reverb at the time,
definetely no Overdrive Reverb.Lowell George was using his Dumble that night, the first time I ever saw and heard one.Hope this helps

Finally some new SRV footage on the tube. Appears to be a Electro Harmonix Memory man on the floor, weird?
SRV, Daytona FL, 1987
Steel String Singer (KTC), And possibly a 300sl or the Blackface SSS
(He was using Tommy Shannons 300sl around this time in his rig)
