Im "ivestigating" the possibilities of using an Hammond 1750L och 1760L output trafo in the 5F6-A circuit.
The reason is that i want to be able to use a 4 ohm cab with it.
But the 1750L and the 1760L is 4200ohm primary.
It seems that the 5F6-A wants a 4000ohm OT.
Would it cause me problems using the 4200ohm OT?
Second question, are Hammond transformers "good enough"?
5F6-A Output transformer?

Hammond is as good as any other

Hammonds are amazing. If anything, they might be 'too good.'spufuz wrote:

Life is a tale told by an idiot -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

5f6 hamond output transformer
For what its worth Kevin O'Connor's version of the 5F6 uses Hammond 1650K and has it wired for 4 and 8R. I think Tubesandmore are selling a switch that allows multiple impeadence switching on Hammond output transformers.
