Other thoughts are the Marstran Radio Spares 6.6k or the righteously affordable MC 4k Bassman unit.
Money matters but I wouldn't regret having the TDS or Marstarn to reuse in a future build if they didn't work out in the 5F6A.
BTW the amp has an early JTM45 style ps, which begs to try the Marstran RS, and it's got 400V plates and Tung-sol NOS 5881s.
Which brings to mind, why did Fender choose 4K for their 2 5881/6l6 amps rather that the book spec of 5.6k? Little more power, little more grit?
Just curious if anyone's gone down any of these roads before before I flip a coin.
Any thoughts on using TDS/West Matchless 4K/40W OT in 5F6A?
