If a cop pulls me over to check my paperwork, no problem . I show it to him and thank him for asking. I have nothing to hide.

Since I don't look like a Mexican do you think they will ask me for my papers? What papers do I need ? Should I be worried? I was not born in the USA. I can't even find my birth certificate, or my SS Card.

What seems to be lost in the whole affair is that it -already- is a Federal Requirement (US Code) for aliens to carry papers at -all- times:

"Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him . . ."

http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/usc ... -000-.html

and for failure to register:

I am hoping to get ss when I turn 62 in 6 years. I know I should wait , I will get a whole more :) .
I am serious what papers do I need to carry around in case I get stopped and asked about my legal resident status/citizenship ? Do they only ask Mexican looking people? Will a drivers license suffice? What about when they take that away because of my age or something?

Can they tell if your legal by looking at you? Do they only ask if you have been arrested for some other crime? are they only checking for illegal mexicans or russians or philipinos, or canadians ? Who is gonna pick my fruit?

Last ? how do I get a replacement ss card when I can't find my birth certificate? i have tried to locate it , but the records seem to be lost. I was born overseas to US parents.

Is Sarah Palin gonna be the next President? Is Alaska really a State? They are treated more like a Territory? Can a Puerto Rican run for President?

No you will be deported immediately without passing Go and will forfeit the $200.

Sure, obviously the Arizona law targets illegal Mexicans since that is their southern border.
I really don't understand the big deal about all this.

The people living along the US border are fighting a war with drug lords and smugglers.
How many more US citizens have to lose their lives by these criminals before enough is enough?

The illegals are draining the system without paying in.

It is common for them to claim maximum exemptions on a W4 so that there is no withholding.
Like a 20 year old guy is going to have five kids already.....
So they don't pay income taxes.

So they get welfare, housing subsistence, unemployment, free education for their kids, use the hospital ER for their doctors office, tax our prison systems, overflow the courts, overburden the police forces, etc.

Sure the same could be said about a lot of poor white people or other races that do the same thing.
But this problem is one that could have been prevented years ago by simply controlling the borders.

It is now a matter of national security. We have no idea who is sneaking across the borders.
We were always the free country that welcomed all.
Well the 19 visitors that knocked down the towers changed all that.

Now the estimated illegal population is anywhere from 12 to 20 million.
They don't even know!

The problem now is what to do about them and do we want to continue to leave the barn doors open?

Try US consolate office in the country you were born. Get copy of birth cert for both parents along with anything else you can get such as if they were in the military overseas DD214, military separation paper, company records if they were working for private industry showing dates they were in the foreign country.

Birth certs for U.S. are found at the county recorders office or State registar's office. If your parents were veterans then a County Veteran Service Officer or State veteran's department can locate the birth certs for parents.

Fill out application at SSA to get the process started.

I agree the violence along the border is out of control and far more serious issue than the illegals who come here to work for us. But after all, who is buying these drugs? who is hiring these illegals? Maybe we should cure the disease instead of the treating the symptoms.
