Slab-base/tab-base tee nuts for Funk chassis?

Post by kleinm »

Hey guys. It's been far too long.

This summer presented the opportunity to buy back my 100W Bluesmaster. A little over a year ago, I had to sell it to a friend to pay moving expenses when I moved my family 3 states away to start grad school.

Unfortunately, some things got banged up in the shipping from KS to IN (nothing major). The main thing that's giving me problems finding is the mounting hardware used in the Funk chassis. The front two got cracked, and I'm suspicious of the back two now. I don't even know what it's called, but it's these little guys:

I've looked all over, but I can't find a suitable replacement. McMaster-Carr has something similar called tab-base tee nuts, but they're weld type and I don't really have any shop access to do proper drilling/grinding of the nuts if need be.

Anyone with any thoughts, advice, or even better a part number? :) I've searched this forum high and low, but can't come up with anything. Sorry if this has been covered already.

Thanks!

Yeah, I just did. I know he's very, very busy though so I thought I'd ask here as well.

It's a tabbed weld nut w/holes. I ran across some 10-24 ones two weeks ago when I was looking for an alternative to Pem nuts. I see if I can find them again.

Great, thanks!

These are the closest I could find on McMaster-Carr.

If anyone finds these, I could use a few as well to repair some stripped pem nuts.
Thanks,

Check the yellow pages in your City for a fastener business they carry this stuff.

Why couldn't use a regular t-nut from lowes or other building centers and grind off the barbs then grind off two sides to form the same shape as the original.

Hi,

This is the same source I provided to Brandon, many years ago:

http://www.stafast.com/products/weldnuts.html

The site is still up and running, and I suspect the McMaster stuff would work too if you're up to drilling your own holes -- the nuts are NOT SS, so they should be "drillable."

Cheers,

Gil

If anyone wants to buy a few extra I'd be happy to buy a quad off you.
