What did you set your bias too ? try 70% of max plate dissipation. Also, I find the 12at7 PI to very critical to getting a good fat tone from a fender. Try a NOS or good vintage tested 12at7 . I prefer RCA but others work as well or better like Amperex, Telefunken, Mullard, GE's are very good. A JAN GE 12at7(6201) is usually very tightly balanced section to section and low noise, Pretty cheap too. JAN Sylvania's are good too.

Usually priority is the key for me. If you primarily play through the Vib channel, then a RCA 7025 in the V2 position would be my choice for a single coil type guitar. For the PI, RCA 12AT7's are hard to beat. NOS 5751's, matched GE 12AT7, and JAN GE or Phillips 12AT7's are also good choices. IMHO 70% plate dissipation for NOS RCA or GE power tubes, is not necessary for a good tone. But that's your call. Art

It is true 70% bias is not necessary for good tone. But if he has them biased too cold they can sound thin. 70% sounds good 99% of the time.
Heck, I actually like em hotter than that.

thank for every suggestion : )

I'd bet that the bias point changes with the new tube. Check the bias with the old tube, swap to the new one and match it.plysters wrote: ่ีjust change 5ar4 to old nec and it's sound better.

If that doesn't do it, I'd look for a NOS rectifier. The new one is most likely not supplying the proper voltages and current. I hear a big difference in my AB763 amp with a NOS rectifier, warmer and richer.
