Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
I just recently started dealing with those fellows and must say that besides having a neat selection of interesting products, they are a really great bunch of fellows.
That's a nice idea. I used to use those washers with the small eyelet extension with which to solder to. I haven't checked in a while, but they used to be somewhat tricky to get. Nice to know there's an alternative.
Regards!

Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
I have been using this website too.
They do not have a dealer pricing program but I still use them for many parts.

Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
Why don't you just use a switchcraft ? this seems to defeat the only benefit of the cliff jack. The switchcraft are better made, less trouble and easier to work on .
I only use the cliff jacks when I specifically need a non grounded jack.

Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
Billy I use switchcraft jacks myself but many seem to use the cliffs so I'm just passing on the info.
I found it interesting that such a washer is being used just like you

whew..... Thought I missed something, I usually do.
Tube Depot
I love dealing with them, every order that I have ever placed was pulled and packaged inside of an hour. I get all my teflon wire, Micalex sockets and balanced PI tubes from them. The Fedex $4.95 shipping that they use is quick too.BTF wrote:I just recently started dealing with those fellows and must say that besides having a neat selection of interesting products, they are a really great bunch of fellows.

I picked up 4 of these washers the other week, just because I thought they were neat.

Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
They also have a Tech on staff that can answer some of your questions that the person that answers the phone may not be able to..Just ask for him.
Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
Just tried them for the first time about a month ago. They actually answered their phone, graciously dealt with my whining and shipped super fast.
Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
I've been buying tubes from them for a couple of years now. Always been prompt and great to deal with.

Re: Cliff jack grounding washers
Novel idea. I like to ground my input jacks together with all 1st stage grounds (filter cap, V1 cathode, etc.) at a single star-ground point on the chassis. This could possibly serve to establish that point..I'd have to consider the wiring of one vs. the other.M Fowler wrote:I stumbled across this and had to pass it along.
