Thanks for posting that. My Express pretty much sounds like the one in the vid, so I think I did OK.
Once I took the KT77's out and put in proper EL34's all the Trainwreck goodness was there!!!

Talk about amp gas, I'd sure like to bulld a Rocket, Liverpool, Komet and on and on.
Very addicting......

What I really need to do is practice more and a good thing about the Express is how revealing it is of bad technique ( maybe not so good in my case) and how it inspires me to play more ( a very good thing).

That Dumble kicked ass on all the other amps.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but the Express and Tan Dumble were not all that impressive in person. The Dumble was in need of a serious retube and tune up, and sounded nothing like it did at last year's show. It was outclassed by a number of different Dumble type amps. We did a direct A/B with a 100W Welagen ODS and a Bludotone ODS, and they both put the real Dumble to shame. The Express was tubed wrong (Mullards) and sounded thin and one dimensional. The Liverpool sounded nice though.

The Dumble really seemed to lack the clear midrange of the Wrecks.

Not too inspiring, doesn't make me come down with GAS.

The Dumble lacked overall clarity and was really loose in the bottom end. It also lacked punch and the output was low. Last year it was really good, so I bet with all the studio rental time and demos at Ultra Sound have worn out the power tubes for sure. It's a good amp, but it wasn't setup for a show. The Express was about the same as it sounded last year. Same wrong tubes, same thin tone. It was cool to see and play the real deal; however it was pretty anticlimactic.

No rain at all. I was disappointed that they did not crank that Express and the Liverpool. Why pussyfoot around? Interesting that you mention Dart that the Dumble needed a retube. I was just commenting to Mark Fowler this morning that I thought it sounded like an anemic Marshall. I much prefer an ODS with 6L6s.

I must need better ears and/or CPU speakers because those amps did not sound good at all but the Dumble had a better tone then the others.

Also, I hate a tele into anything, not my type of guitar.

What did you guys think of the Komet 19 and the Bruno? Or dare I ask

Bruno didn't strike me at all really.

I agree with the tele, clean tones are nice and spanky, but pretty much not my cup of tea, though I did like that very last note he hits on the Express.

Mark, I think the K19 sounds really good. But the demo tracks on the Komet website do a much better job of conveying its capabilities than the Premier Guitar video, IMHO. Paired with a G12H30 Heritage, man, it sounds pretty darn good to me. Really got the chimey thing going on in clean mode. The Heritage does a nice job of rolling off some of the top end.

+1, never heard a video review that blew me away. Need to work on their recording technique.
