Where do You put the 100k Lin OD trimmer (clock vise, please) and do You change it sometimes or leave it as it is ?
Do You easily get feedback from Your amp ?
How high You have to put the master volume to get feedback ?
Do You have to engage the PAB or mid boost to get feedback ?
I had the OD trimmer usually on 9 or 9:30 o'clock but now I have experimented it as high as on 1 to 3 o'clock and for the first time I've managed to get a feedback from my amp
I don't use a trimmer. I use a fixed resistor voltage divider. In my 6V6 amp it is a 220k series and 56k to ground which approximates an 180k series resistor going into a 100k trimmer roughly set a bit above half. Input gain and OD gain set to 3 or less gives a clean tone. Both controls set to above 7 gives a very overdriven tone.
The 6L6 amp has a 150k series with an 68k to ground, which approximates a 120k resistor going into a 100k trimmer roughly turned up two thirds. This gives a bit more gain than the 220k/56k combo.
So basically my settings are close to your settings with 1 to 3 o'clock, only they are fixed.
With my settings I get good feedback. I use the OD mode for a loud lead sound (6V6 amp no master, Input Vol. 6-7, OD gain 7-9, OD level 2-3, same OD gain and level settings on 6L6 amp but the volume reduced through the effects loop).
Since I play a Tele with the country rock band I use the boost (midboost on 6V6, PAB on 6L6). With a humbucker I probably wouldn't need it .
I used the 6L6 amp yesterday at a gig. OD level was at 2.5, effects return volume (=master volume) was at 2 (out of a scale of 10, 5 is equal to bypass level). Input volume was at 6, gain at 8 (turned down to 3 with the boost pedal engaged for crunch rhythms). Played through the Celestion G 100 in the 6V6 amp (the 6V6 amp also serves as backup).
I got feedback at will when I turned the guitar to the speaker.
As regards to using the effects return volume: I believe this is what many Two Rock users do.
