Looking for old thread: In-home filtering with choke

Trying to find an old thread I remember there was a discussion about power filtering, and someone mentioned taking a choke (maybe a 5uf?) and plugging it right into the wall, then plugging your guitar amp into the other outlet. Supposedly there's a commercial version of this, but I can't find any reference and a search turns up nothing.

If I understand you correctly and you are suggesting plugging the choke into the 120 AC, well, wear safety glasses and have a fire extinguisher handy.
